Hi, I’m James.
I’m an engineer and I make things.
Over the past decade I’ve made all sorts of things for all sorts of people.
I’ve made sensors for rubbish bins, smart materials, cameras that have travelled across the ocean and robots that pick vegetables.
I love creating furniture too, and over the years I’ve made chairs, tables, desks, shelves, and a few lamps.
Whether it’s robots or furniture, my goal is always to make things with craftsmanship, integrity and respect for the planet.
I also think being an engineer is pretty cool, so I wrote a book about it.
At the moment I’m working at Vitsœ in Leamington Spa in the UK, building on the furniture designed by Dieter Rams. We make systems that last a lifetime, adapt to any space and never go obsolete.
If you want to know more about what I do or you’d just like to say hi, feel free to get in touch.
